Today, generating content using AI, whether it is text or image or video, it's pretty easy. What if someone creates a lot of such contents using AI and publishes to a website, or blog site. And as per Google guidelines, as long as content is helpful to the user, they will start driving traffic to that website.


Google says, Their guideline is against automatically generated content, however if it is helping users, they don't have an issue with it.





If AI contents are helpful to the user, it makes sense to give them value by Google, but then what will be the value for a human contributed content? Probably we need to compare now that if human brains are not doing better than AI, especially in writing content, then we need to choose AI over Humans.


This has created a major strategic shift in Content marketing and SEO strategy.


Questions are

1. How will content writers evolve to fight with AI or make use of them?

2. How will Google be able to do a fair search ranking for human generated content vs AI generated? or vice versa or whatever?


First of all, let’s look at some AI generator contents, I was trying to see the response of a few prompts using AI and it really does the magic, let’s look at a few examples, I have attached their response in the screenshots, take a look at them

There is a pattern in this kind of content, they are mostly information based, there is not much of human touch required, they are mostly fact based content, and such information is already available on the web, so AI can easily beat humans. There is a conversational search engine launched in 2022 Perplexity which gives you a specific answer to your specific question, you don’t need to go through multiple pages on google and extract, up to an extent Google also gives you direct answers, but perplexity gives you question & answer kind of experience, and it’s really good if you have specific question.


Now let’s look at some of these contents

Point is, for the above sample content, If any content writer is writing or any AI is writing, there is no big difference, because there is already enough available on the web about them and so the search engine won’t be able to make a big difference, which means Google search engine judgment to direct the traffic to AI written content will always be fuzzy.

In the first one, the AI is giving standard 5 days itinerary which includes some meditation time and yoga, it’s not even thinking that you can just stay 3-4 days at Norbulingka and relax, stay in peace, and usually that makes a difference when you use AI over Humans, because AI did not understand the context that this guy is not going Dharamshala for tourism, he wants to go for peace, and so making him roam around different places doesn’t make sense.


For the second example, AI is not doing anything different than someone who is not a night lover. What I found is if there is ambiguity of context and intent, AI will not do better than humans. For example, if humans write this, They might ask, why do you want to wake up early if you are enjoying the night? There are different biological cycles for different humans, you should find your biological cycle and tune to it. A good answer is possible after a contextual conversation takes place, and that's where humans do better than AI.



Adopting and Leveraging AI Tools

  1. There is no need to spend time writing what AI can write, for example the above written sample examples, and we should make use of AI tools like GPT to make ourselves more efficient. 

  2. Idea Generation - Writers can use AI to brainstorm topics, titles, and content ideas. Tools like GPT can suggest trending topics and innovative angles for articles.

  3. Research Assistance - AI can quickly sift through vast amounts of data and summarize key points, helping writers to gather information efficiently.

  4. Content Enhancement - Writers can utilise AI for editing and proofreading to enhance the quality of their content. AI can help with grammar checks, readability improvements, and even stylistic suggestions.



Understand what AI can not do better than humans

  1. Adding context, add more and more context

  2. Solving for ambiguity especially when it requires a lot of context

  3. Emotional substance, Cultural aspects

  4. Uniqueness in the writing, some kind of signature


We should leverage AI for factual things, quickly gathering the information, but we must add the human elements, add context, some creativity to it, that would be a recipe to create better content than AI.
